As Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Officer, Laila is responsible for working across Peraton’s sectors and functions to help align the company’s DE&I goals with measurable business outcomes. She also leads the company’s ethics and compliance function and is charged with establishing and executing programs that support enterprise DE&I efforts, including the company’s employee resource groups. In partnership with the Corporate Engagement & Communications and Talent Acquisition leadership, Laila helps to support employee change management, cultural, and diversity talent acquisition initiatives.
Prior to her current role, Laila served as Peraton’s vice president, Corporate Responsibility where she led the company’s ethics, compliance, quality, and risk management efforts. In that role, she and her team applied industry best practice-based action plans that addressed critical findings and helped to institute metrics and key performance indicators that reflected the effectiveness of the company’s programs. She previously served in a range of human resource leadership roles with aerospace, defense, national security, and government contracting companies. She has extensive experience in employee relations, employee and team development, change management, conflict resolution, and employment law and compliance.
Laila earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Strayer University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University.
