National Aerospace Solutions Sector

In this role, Tarik has full executive responsibility for Peraton’s National Aerospace Solutions Sector, established to modernize critical infrastructure for the nation’s air travel and aerospace systems. The sector leads the transformative, multi-billion dollar Brand New Air Traffic Control System program, a landmark Federal Aviation Administration initiative to replace outdated air traffic control infrastructure with advanced, state-of-the-art technologies. Under Tarik’s leadership, the sector delivers secure, interoperable, and mission-critical capabilities, including advanced communications systems, surveillance technologies, automation platforms, and modernized facilities to enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the U.S. airspace. This effort drives innovation in the National Airspace System; it also sets a global standard for air traffic management while anticipating the future needs of modern aviation.

Tarik has more than 30 years of experience leading organizations and outperforming target markets in defense, intelligence, civil, health, and commercial sectors. Previously, Tarik served as the president for Peraton’s Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector, delivering advanced, mission-specific interoperable multidomain solutions to U.S. warfighters and its allies. He also led the sector’s delivery of advanced public health solutions to citizen and human services agencies, as well as military, public, and global health customers.

Prior to joining Peraton, Tarik was Northrop Grumman’s Civil and Health vice president, managing a portfolio of more than 240 programs and nearly $2 billion in sales. He led multiple divisions at Northrop Grumman as a vice president, including Combat Systems and Mission Readiness, Mission Systems International, and Missile Defense and Protective Systems. Tarik joined Northrop Grumman from Microsoft Corp., where he was a services executive. He also held senior leadership positions with Visalign Corp. and Bechtel Corp., where he consulted with global commercial nuclear and fossil power companies.

Tarik earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering and mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. He also has executive certifications from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Strategy and Finance, respectively. Tarik is a two-time recipient of the Fed100 Award, recognizing his impact and leadership in advancing federal IT. He was inducted into the Order of the Engineers and the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara Air Defense Artillery Association, where he was awarded the Saint Barbara Medal. Tarik serves on CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield’s board of directors, chairs the MD Affiliate, and is on the boards of managers for Sandia National Labs within the Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Agency and AFCEA Bethesda.
