Stu Shea

Stu Shea is a proven business leader, strategist, and intelligence professional providing critical mission support to the national security community. He currently services as President, Chairman, and CEO of Peraton, a $7B next generation national security company. Stu is the former President & Chief Operating Officer of Leidos [NYSE: LDOS], a $7B solutions focused company, and was the principal architect in the creation of Leidos when he served as COO of SAIC [NYSE: SAIC], an $11B science & technology solutions company. Prior to being named COO, Stu led SAIC’s support to the national security community as President, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group and was previously Director of Space & Intelligence at Northrop Grumman TASC.

Stu’s vision has been formative in building the GEOINT community, advancing the tradecraft, and accelerating innovation and is the founder of the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) and the highly acclaimed GEOINT Symposium. Stu was the Chairman of the Senior Advisory Group (SAG) for the Directors of National Intelligence Honorable Richard Grenell (Neil Wiley, Principal Executive), the Honorable VADM Joseph Maguire (Andrew Hallman, Principal Executive), the Honorable Daniel R. Coats (Honorable Sue Gordon, PDDNI), and a member of the SAG under DNI Honorable LTG James R. Clapper (Honorable Stephanie O’Sullivan, PDDNI). Stu has served on numerous industry and government advisory boards, including as a member of the AFCEA Intelligence Committee (Intel), National intelligence University Foundation (NIUF), Riverside Research Corporation (Cyber, ISR R&D), Fornetix (Cyber), CloudShield Technologies, Inc. (Cyber), Applied Research Solutions (ARS) (DoD), Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Corporation (DARPA/USAF), bd Systems, Inc. (USAF Space Control), SM Consulting (Linguistic Services), and the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Stu is a recipient of numerous awards for his business and personal leadership, including the Intelligence Community Seal Medallion, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) GEOINT Hall of Fame, the Art Lundahl-Tom Finnie Lifetime Achievement Award, National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) & Washington Business Journal’s Outstanding Director, Executive Mosaic Wash100, NVTC Tech100, Federal Computer Week’s Fed100, Virginia 500, and the 50 Most Influential Virginians. Shea is also a Fellow, American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.

Stu is an internationally recognized author and has served on several major international refereed journal editorial boards and several academic advisory boards. He is a gifted speaker and has given commencement addresses for James Madison University in 2013, and George Mason University in 2022. Shea’s accomplishments have been highlighted by several best-selling authors and press coverage.

Stu received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letter from George Mason University, a Master of Arts from the University of Kansas, a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Albany, and executive education at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Harvard Business School, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and The George Washington University School of Business and Public Management.
