Earlier this week, U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su recognized Peraton as one of the 2023 HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award recipients during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor.
The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award met rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages and availability of veteran-specific resources.
“We are proud to be recognized for the fourth consecutive year,” said Alison Paris, senior vice president, Talent Acquisition, Peraton. “Veterans bring a unique skillset to our missions of consequence that help strengthen our national security posture. We are honored to be recognized for our efforts to continually invest in the veteran community and their families.”
The company’s veteran population provides a strategic advantage and battleground understanding when it comes to solving customer challenges, which is why more than 3,000 veterans and their family members are proud to call Peraton their employer of choice. Peraton’s culture is committed to providing a smooth transition for military personnel. VALOR (veterans and allies leading optimal results), one of Peraton’s five employee resource groups, provides an internal community of support for military employees and their families through virtual and in-person engagements.
“We pride ourselves in being an organization that is fueled by veterans,” said Scott Cooper, Marine Corps veteran and vice president, Government Relations, Peraton. “We are steadfast in our commitment to this effort and partnering and assisting those who have served our nation to live long, healthy, productive lives after they take off the uniform.”
In addition, Peraton has received numerous awards this year, including US Veterans Magazine’s Top Veteran-Friendly Company, VETS Indexes Employer Award, Viqtory’s Military Friendly Employer, Disability Equality Index’s Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion and, most recently, Military Times’ Best for Vets Employers.
