Bob Genter

President & Chief Operating Officer

In this role, Bob is responsible for the operations and execution of Peraton’s strategic priorities, driving operational excellence and growth across the company. He coordinates the executive leadership team to strengthen mission-focused capabilities, aligns investments with strategy, and fosters a high-performance culture centered on accountability, empowerment, and customer impact.

Prior to joining Peraton, Bob served as the Defense and Civilian Sector President at SAIC, where he led a $4.8 billion portfolio and a global workforce of 16,000 employees. He restored growth in the defense business, secured record contract awards, and led the acquisition and integration of Unisys Federal and Halfaker. Earlier, as executive vice president of SAIC’s Civilian Markets Group, he transformed a $1 billion business into a $2.8 billion growth engine through managed services innovation, account-based execution, and disciplined portfolio shaping.

Previously, Bob held senior leadership roles at CGI, managing commercial and state and local market portfolios spanning IT outsourcing, software development, and global delivery. He consistently turned around underperforming units, strengthened sales performance, and improved profitability. Bob began his career in finance and operations roles at American Management Systems.

Bob has earned recognition as a Fed 100 honoree, a Wash100 recipient, and one of WashingtonExec’s Top Executives to Watch. He has served on multiple corporate and nonprofit boards and currently serves as chairman of the board of Babel Street.

Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Saint Michael’s College and an MBA in finance and strategy from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business. He also completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
