Signature Contract Wins
Schorer has led Peraton to signature contract wins for transformative technologies like cybersecurity. The company landed a recompete contract from U.S. Forces Korea to continue delivering cyber support for the USFK Joint Cyberspace Center by identifying emerging threats, strengthening mission assurance and analyzing adversary activities.
He guided Peraton to an innovative partnership with Zscaler to provide cybersecurity and network modernization capabilities for mission-critical government and enterprise environments. This collaboration unites Peraton’s hybrid multicloud services with Zscaler’s zero trust architecture.
“Steve’s leadership continues to shape the GovCon landscape in essential technologies including artificial intelligence-powered fraud detection,” said Jim Garrettson, Executive Mosaic CEO and founder of the Wash100 Award. “As CEO of Peraton, he is advancing critical missions through key wins, including a recompete with U.S. Forces Korea supporting the Joint Cyberspace Center and an Air Force contract to design and prototype advanced cyber infrastructure.
“He is also strengthening Peraton’s cyber and network modernization capabilities through strategic partnerships, including with Zscaler, to deliver secure, mission-critical solutions.
With prior leadership roles at Alion, DynCorp and DRS Technologies, and as a senior advisor to Veritas Capital, Steve brings deep industry expertise and vision. This 2026 Wash100 Award reflects Steve’s credibility as a trusted provider delivering advanced, mission-critical cyber capabilities across defense and national security,” Garrettson continued.
Schorer wants Peraton to revitalize U.S. airspace management. Peraton is offering its capabilities for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System, or BNACS, effort. This is a rare opportunity to address growing challenges to national airspace including increased flight volume, the integration of unmanned systems and reliance on outdated infrastructure.
“Our scale, technical depth and mission-first culture is well-suited to support this transformational effort,” Schorer said. “We are ready to stand with the FAA and Secretary Sean Duffy to rapidly deliver a safer, smarter air traffic system that meets the needs of today, and anticipates tomorrow’s demands.”
Peraton, with Schorer’s leadership, is making an impact on the daily well-being of warfighters. The company was tasked by the Defense Human Resources Activity to support the mission of the Defense Suicide Prevention Office by creating and delivering training programs for suicide response teams. Peraton will help enhance the Department of War’s Postvention Response System to improve its handling of organized responses following suicide incidents while helping teams foster open, stigma-mitigating conversations that encourage help-seeking.
Cutting-Edge AI Fraud Detection
Schorer has been instrumental in guiding Peraton to the forefront of artificial intelligence-enabled fraud detection. The company launched Rapid Fraud Intelligence, or RapidFI, a fraud detection AI tool that spots suspicious transactions. Rapid FI combines Peraton’s decades of experience helping federal agencies fight fraud with the latest AI-infused technology.

As DynCorp president from 2009 to 2013, Schorer improved the business’ aviation and ground vehicle sector while renegotiating the largest contract in company history, Logistics Civil Augmentation Program, or LOGCAP, to improve profitability by roughly 90 percent. Schorer played a key role in the sale of DynCorp to Cerberus.
He created the vision, organization and strategy for the $1.4 billion DRS Technology business and built market strategies and business verticals for emerging technologies like Navy power and electric drive, and signals intelligence. Schorer helped Peraton to a $121 million Army recompete contract to provide strategic mission support for U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa. Here, Peraton is providing mission planning and strategic operations, logistics, and supply chain management. It is also delivering IT, communications and knowledge management to help the Pentagon expand and enhance its military operations across Africa.
Schorer helped lead Peraton to a spot on a $980 million multiple-award contract for the Air Force’s Automatic Testing Systems Acquitition-I, effort. This indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract calls for the company to support the service’s global network of automatic testing systems for aircraft and ensure safety, reliability and combat readiness.
