In December and under Steve Schorer’s leadership, Peraton capped the year on a very high note when it secured the Federal Aviation Administration’s historic, multi-billion-dollar Brand New Air Traffic Control System contract. “The most ambitious technology overhaul and modernization effort in federal government history,” Schorer said.
The system will integrate advanced automation, AI and secure communications into operational systems that govern and manage national airspace.
“This effort brought together the best of Peraton, and resulted in a compelling solution that enhances safety, improves efficiency, and modernizes a critical national infrastructure that millions of passengers, pilots, controllers, and engineers rely on every single day,” Schorer said.
Peraton also remains keenly aligned with this administration’s efforts in national priority areas such as digital enterprise transformation and modernization, enhanced cyber posture, space superiority, fraud prevention, resilient secure communications and the Golden Dome national security initiative.
Whether incorporating advanced AI analysis and automation, next-generation architectures or X-as-a-service delivery models, Peraton leverages emerging technology that offers enduring best value to customers and taxpayers. The company is bringing to bear transformational ideas and solutions that drive better performance, dramatic efficiencies and significant cost savings across government.
“Steve has led Peraton with clarity, discipline, and a deep understanding of the missions our customers depend on every day,” said Ramzi Musallam, CEO and managing partner at Veritas Capital.
“His ability to align people, technology, and execution has driven transformative outcomes that strengthen critical national infrastructure, including the FAA’s historic air traffic control modernization program, and advance high-stakes intelligence and cyber missions supporting the U.S. Army’s Global Cyber Center and the nation’s broader intelligence community.”
Why Watch
In 2026, Schorer and his team are embracing Peraton’s momentum from its FAA win and leveraging market-leading capabilities in AI, resilient networking, cyber automation and information advantage to create revolutionary performance.
Peraton’s technologies are changing the way agencies can scale, accelerate and improve decision-making — the power of “AI everywhere” is changing everything and creating unprecedented gains in how it delivers the nation’s missions of consequence.
The company’s investments at Peraton Labs have also led to a groundbreaking Agentic AI platform that will transform how people work, with practical benefits for every government agency and operation. “Watch for it!” said Schorer.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the heroic efforts and great strides made by the Peraton team over the last year,” Schorer added. “Our incredibly rich heritage, next generation capabilities, and forward-leaning talent demonstrated what we can achieve when we bring the ‘best of Peraton’ to market. I am confident we will meet and exceed our customers’ and investors’ expectations as we tackle new challenges in 2026.”
Fun fact
Schorer was featured for 10 seconds in a scene in the original movie JAWS. This experience sparked a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. Schorer is also an avid professional sports fan. As a New England native, he will always root for the Red Sox and Patriots; but having spent a good amount of early career working and raising his family on the West Coast, he also can’t help but root for the Lakers.
