You know some of our region’s federal contractors produce combat ships, missiles and tanks. But you might hear less about the work they do for a higher purpose — space. As a federal agency, NASA awards billions in annual contracts in our region. The last annual procurement report NASA published in 2018 shows more than $2.8 billion in contracts awarded in the District, Maryland and Virginia.
