The United States and the Republic of Korea have a longstanding partnership founded on mutual trust, shared principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, as well as common strategic goals and a strong bond of friendship. Together, they collaborate to address both regional and global challenges while enhancing their economic ties.
Established in 1957, the United States Forces Korea (USFK) is responsible for the support and training of both Korean and American forces to help maintain stability in Asia. Peraton recently secured a $10 million recompete contract to support the United States Forces Korea 8th Army (USFK 8A) in its command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) operations. The company will build, modernize, and maintain equipment so that the forces, and broader US Army Pacific, can be ready and able to handle any incoming threats from adversaries.
“We are privileged to be part of this vital mission in the Pacific. The enduring partnership between U.S. and Republic of Korea service members has played a pivotal role in the prosperity and security of the region,” said Tom Afferton, president, Cyber Mission sector, Peraton. “By enhancing the readiness and capabilities of our country and Allies, we are not only ensuring regional stability but also upholding our global commitment to democracy and security.”
For over 70 years, service members from the United States and the Republic of Korea have worked together to maintain and foster conditions that promote stability and prosperity within the region. This long-standing partnership has been instrumental in maintaining the thriving, respected democracy in Korea. To ensure continued peace and security, U.S. Forces Korea and U.S. Army Pacific are strengthening their readiness through rotational forces, new capabilities, and innovative strategies, reinforcing global democratic values and security.
